Hi there! Sebastiaan Werkendam is a graphic designer and illustrator, living and working in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague in 2014 and started his own studio shortly thereafter.

HEISA is a young Dutch fashion brand that caters to techno lovers and festival fanatics. I had the pleasure to work on the designs for on the clothing of HEISA, as well as the logo design.

Making use of rare finds and other curiosities, the studio Design Alchemists is able to transform any space into a warm and welcoming interior. The branding for Design Alchemists has a clean but rich voice, sensitive to the merging of home and personality.

As part of the identity, I designed a simple geometric pattern that that consists of three basic elements, from which all new designs emerge, similar to alchemy.

For the design of the new series of Teylers' annual reports the golden ratio became the base of layout and format of these booklets. The shape reminded us of old accounting books with its long rows and columns which immediately grasped the essence of the content of the annual report. Next to the main content you can find several works from the museums collection that we use as 'infographics' in between chapters.
